Mazak MCT 2.0 Lower Nozzle Body Assembly
Introduction
This blog follows the video above and describes the assembly of the lower section of the Mazak MCT 2.0. Below you will find step-by-step instructions for assembly. Please note that all parts can be purchased on our website, and any questions can be sent to parts@mglaser.com.
Assembly
1. Set the coupler (M502S1) on a flat surface, with the threaded end facing down. On the face of the socket (M504S1) with the flat rim, insert the spring (M505S0) before inverting and placing around the coupler.
2. Press the edge of the socket down to insert the steel balls (M503S0) into the coupler. Set aside.
3. Place the aluminum housing (M506A1) on a flat surface with the rounded rim facing down and the graduated end facing up. Insert the PPS ring (M541P0) into the center.
4. Find the notch on the bracket (M512U0) and insert the screw (M106S0) before placing it on top of the PPS ring.
5. Gently invert the entire housing unit and insert the coupler and socket that were previously assembled in steps one and two. Twist the coupler clockwise to tighten it with a tool from the lower nozzle body tool set (LT0004).
6. Invert the entire unit once more and use the appropriate tool from the tool set (LT0004) to tighten the bracket (M512U0). If necessary, use both tools simultaneously to tighten both ends securely.
7. Rotate the bracket so that the notch is lined up with the hole on the housing unit. Insert a hex key to further tighten the screw from step four. Then rotate the bracket 180 degrees so that the small hole on the top of the bracket is directly above the hole on the housing unit.
8. Insert the spacer (M507A0) into the indentation on the outside of the housing. Then insert the connector (M508B0) into the middle hole of the spacer. The tip of the connector should fit into the small hole of the bracket. Line up the connector with the holes on the spacer and fasten with screws (M510S0).
9. Insert a second small screw (M106S0) into the small hole on the top of the bracket, and fasten it with a hex key.
10. Add the PPS Ring (M535P0) to the top of the bracket with the flat edge facing up. Then add the ceramic ring (M534C0) to the center of the PPS ring. Set aside.
11. Take the MCT 2.0 Ring (M517S2) and lay the flat face on a flat surface. Set the springs (M553S0) in the indentations on the ring.
12. Using gloves and protective eyewear, slide the steel base (M518S2) with the flat edge down into the springs. Use caution, as the springs can eject during this process.
13. Fasten the plate (M551B0) to the indentation between the springs on the MCT 2.0 ring with the bolt (M552S0), then repeat on the other side. Use a hex key to ensure screws are tightened, and to straighten out the springs if they shifted during the process.
14. Use the set screws (M521S1) to thread into the holes on the outer edges of the MCT 2.0 ring by hand before securing it with the adjustment handle (LT0020). Then, use hex nuts (M554S0) and thread onto screws, securing tightly against the MCT 2.0 ring.
15. Insert the PPS Ring (M549P0) into the center of the steel base (M518S2) with the flat edge facing down. Then, insert the top retainer nut (M520U0) into the center of the PPS ring, with the threaded edge facing down.
16. Carefully invert the unit. Place the PPS Ring (M546P0) in the center, around the threaded part of the top retainer nut. Then, attach the retainer nut (M515U0), twisting to secure. Use a tool from the lower nozzle body tool set (LT0004) to tighten further.
17. Press the O-Ring (GNS050) firmly into the indentation on the steel base (M518S2).
18. Screw the entire unit together. Insert nozzle into nozzle adapter (options in catalog). Use a tool from the lower nozzle body set (LT0004) to tighten them together, before inserting it into the coupler.
For Storage
For storage and maintenance purposes, press the socket down to remove the nozzle and nozzle adapter. Invert the unit and place the maintenance plate (M555S0) on top. Gently flip the unit over once more and secure the maintenance plate with bolts (M556S0). This will prevent dirt and debris from accumulating.
